HAPPA-RI...history

Haitian American Partnership For Positive Actions, is a 5 01 (C) 3 non-profit organization that was founded in January 2001 under the leadership of Kapedjanie Bois, Mr. Jean Bois, Pastor Pierre Laguerre and Mr. Robenson St. Franc. The organization was the first to organize its first Haitian flag day in May 2001. Over the years, it has become one of Rhode Island strongest non-profit organizations within the Haitian Community. Between the year 2005 and 2008, HAPPA became known as HAPPA-RI inc. They have organized several key events that have helped the Rhode Island Haitian community as a whole.  The success of the local cultural events were put together  with other non-profits within the community such as Haitian Community  Action under the leadership of Mr. Roger Dazulme, The Haitian Family Organization under the leadership of Mr. Biady Richemond and with several Haitian based Churches.

As a 501 C 3 non-profit entity, our purpose is to continue in preserving the Haitian heritage in the Renaissance City and the Ocean State and to serve the Haitian community in all aspect of their needs.

The Haitian American Partnership for Positive Actions in Rhode Island (HAPPA-RI) is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the well-being of the Haitian American community in Rhode Island. The organization aims to empower Haitian Americans through education, cultural awareness, and community outreach programs.

HAPPA-RI's mission is to create a positive and inclusive environment for Haitian Americans in Rhode Island by promoting education, cultural awareness, and community involvement. The organization works to address issues facing the Haitian American community, such as health disparities, social and economic inequality, and lack of access to resources.

HAPPA-RI also seeks to promote cultural exchange and understanding between Haitian Americans and other communities in Rhode Island. The organization believes that by building bridges between communities, they can foster greater understanding and respect for the Haitian American culture.

Overall, HAPPA-RI's mission is to promote the well-being and empowerment of the Haitian American community in Rhode Island through education, cultural awareness, and community outreach.
